Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa asked us to remind Creative Escape guest that bringing alcohol onto the premises and drinking it in public is against Arizona state law. In order to meet this requirement, all alcohol must be served by a WHP employee.

If you want to be in a particular group, with particular people, be sure to log in and make your group selection. Beginning August 16, all people who have not selected a group will be randomly assigned. Remember, all guests are offered all classes from all teachers. Everyone attending Creative Escape have the same offerings so you are sure to have a wonderful time and make new friends in any group.

If something has come up in your life and you just won’t be able to attend Creative Escape – you don’t have to miss out on all the classes.  Contact us prior to the beginning of classes, August 28, to make arrangements to receive your kits and all the other Creative Escape goodies. A $25 shipping and handling fee is required on a credit card. Or, you can ask a friend to pick up your kits at the event, but we need the name of the person picking up your goodies.

Remember: Creative Escape registration is non-transferable. Refunds will be credited to the same card used for the initial transaction. Full refunds will be given until May 15. A $250 cancellation fee will be charged until July 1, 2009, after that date refunds will not be given. Hotel and travel cancellations are not the responsibility of Creative Escape. We do not guarantee that transferred registrations will be honored at the door. Consider it a RISK!

We asked teachers past and present to decorate a small, simple, black lamp to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The results are amazing! Each teacher displays his/her talent and very distinct style in a piece of home decor that is functional, beautiful, and could be yours.

Each of these lamps (and a few more) are available to win in a raffle. Tickets are available at the information booth: $5 ea. or 5 for $20. Decide to use your tickets to win the ScrapMap cruise, or one or more of the  lamps. All the lamps are on display across from the info booth so be sure to take a look. Decide which item you would like to win by placing your ticket in the appropriate raffle box.

Tim Holtz and Heidi Swapp have also donated lamps, but their creations will be available for live auction during dinner on Saturday night.

All lamps will be shipped to your home courtesy of Creative Escape.

Just for attending Creative Escape, we will give you 10 raffle tickets to win fabulous prizes from our sponsors. If you shop in the on-site store you will get one more ticket for every $25 you spend. You can help us raise money for the leukemia and lymphoma association by buying tickets to win a Scrap Map cruise. Plus, you can buy raffle tickets to win one of the custom ***** (I can’t tell you yet) that teachers past and present designed to raffle/auction during the event. All proceeds for that one go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association, too.

Bottom line… bring your return address labels if you don’t want to write your name on the back of tickets over and over and over and over. Just a suggestion!

You can’t just wander around out in the desert in this heat! Download the Safari Search map click here, decipher the clues, pack your water bottle and head off for an adventure. It shouldn’t take more than a hour. Even shorter if you send a scout. Stamp your passport every time you locate a palm tree and take a photo of your group with the items provided. When your passport is full, fill in your name at the bottom of the passport and turn it in at the information booth to enter a raffle for Oriental Trading prizes. PLEASE leave all the props behind for the next group. Safari Search is available until Friday night.

Beginning Wednesday morning, adventure out into the wild-beyond of the hotel grounds in search of six, barely-hidden jungle trees dotting the desert landscape. If you unlock the clues and follow your map carefully, there are some pretty dangerous surprises in store. Take your camera!

It’s time to get your wild on! As you can probably tell, we have incorporated plenty of green and zebra into this year’s theme. If you own zebra print. Pack it. Just think how cute all the photos will be!

How are you going to bring everything back? You will have 10 projects to pack in your suitcase. You may win a fabulous raffle basket. You may win a cruise (you won’t have to pack the ship, we will give you a gift certificate). You may buy all sorts of hard-to-find goodies on your many shopping sprees. No worries. Bring an empty suitcase or visit the CE shipping department (in Roadrunner) for all your shipping needs.
