Q: Does the hotel need to know the name of everyone in my hotel room?
A: Yes, for fire safety reasons the hotel needs to know how many people are staying in each guest room. Creative Escape needs to know the NAME of each registered CE guest staying each hotel room…for secret reasons that can’t be revealed right now. To do this, make sure that each CE guest’s name is on the reservation when the room is booked AND make sure each CE guest checks in with the desk upon arrival.

Q: My friend isn’t listed on the room reservation but she is attending Creative Escape and staying in my room. Does that matter?
A: Yes, it matters. CE and the hotel need to know the name of every Creative Escape guest staying at the hotel. If your guest isn’t registered, please escort her to the front desk and add her to your room. You will be asked to show I.D., so be prepared.

Q: Will there be enough rooms at the hotel for everyone at the event?
A: Yes, Creative Escape blocks out the majority of guest rooms at the hotel. However, there are only 270 rooms with two double beds at the hotel and those rooms book quickly. The remainder of rooms include a king size bed.

Q: Does the hotel have sleeper beds (roll-away) available?
A: Yes, there are 20 sleeper beds available for rent at the hotel. Due to fire regulations, sleeper beds can only be used in a room with a king size bed.

Q: Does the hotel have a refrigerator in the guest room?
A: No, the hotel does not have refrigerators in the rooms, however, there are a limited number available for rent. Guests with medical needs requiring the use of refrigeration have the priority.

Q: Is a maid fee paid by Creative Escape?
A: No, all hotel accommodations, incidentals, and tips are the guest’s responsibility. Because of the unusually large amount of trash and packaging CE guests typically leave behind, please consider tipping your maid when you check out of the hotel. For hotel housekeeping and maid service, it is customary to tip $3 per night.

Q: Is my family welcome to attend?
A: Although registered event attendees must be 16-years or older, feel free to bring the family along to enjoy the this beautiful resort. We are able to offer this great low rate between August 25 and August 29, 2009.

Q: What is the Arizona weather like in September?
A: It is still very hot but nearly all of the event is held indoors. The average high during August is 103 degrees and the average low is 79 with 1” of precipitation (it is the end of our monsoon season). For an accurate weather forecast, visit http://www.weather.com. All hotel rooms and meeting rooms are air-conditioned…and as funny as it may seem, you might get a little chill while sitting inside.

Q: I have friends who live nearby, do I need to stay at the hotel?
A: Although you don’t have to stay at the hotel, we highly recommend it! The classes start early and finish late and there is so much to do in between. We think you will agree it would be much more relaxing and convenient to stay on site. After all…this is the ultimate scrapbooking indulgence. You deserve it!

Q: A group of friends is traveling together, is there a way to arrange for adjoining rooms?
A: The hotel will do its best to accommodate all requests. When you register there will be an opportunity to tell us who you will be traveling with so that we can keep you together as much as possible. We understand that part of the fun is being with friends!

Q: A group of friends would like to be assigned to the same classes. Is that possible?
A: Yes. When you visit the website there is a place to join a group. You will be able to see the names of the other people in the group and the city they live. This information should help you make your choice. You can also change your mind and remove yourself from a group. We will not allow any group changes after July 27, 2009. Anyone who does not sign up for a specific group will be randomly assigned. If you are attending with a friend we cannot guarantee you will be placed together unless you both select the same group.

Q: Do you need volunteers?
A: No. We are using local volunteers who will be available for our Preview Day training before the event. All volunteers attend a two-day session to make the projects and be familiar with all the instructions during class. Many of our unbelievable volunteers have been with us for all 4 years.

Q: Can you accommodate special needs?
A: Yes, of course. There will be a place to enter all special needs requests during on-line registration. This resort is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and will do everything possible to meet your needs.

Q: Do I have to register on-line?
A: Yes, all registration must be completed on-line. Credit cards are required and will be processed at the time of registration. If the credit card is denied, the registration will cancel.

Q: What type of clothes do I pack?
A: This weekend is all about comfort and relaxation. If it isn’t your favorite, don’t pack it! We expect to see lots of shorts and T-shirts. Event T-shirts will be available closer to the event. As you will soon discover…Arizona is very casual! Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit and cover-up.

Q: What if I forget scrapbooking supplies?
A: When you run out of adhesive, need to buy the newest Heidi Swapp embellishment or want to load up on Bazzill Basics Paper — you don’t need to go far. Scrapbooks, Etc., one of the hottest stores on the west coast, has set up an on-site store that is open when you need it to be. Pick up cardstock, printed paper, embellishments, adhesive, albums, and other Creative Escape merchandise without ever leaving the property.

Q: How do I get everything back home?
A: There will be tons of products and projects to get home and if you plan to do any shopping along the way, we suggest bringing along an extra, EMPTY suitcase. There will also be FEDEX shipping available from the event on Saturday. Regular shipping fees apply.
