Posted on Jun 02.09 to Preview DayKristin P. was the winner of the House of 3 basket. Dorothey S. – W. was the winner of the Bazzill basket. Tell me that wrap-job isn’t gorgeous! Mona and Frani are the raffle basket wrappers for the event too. There have been so many companies donating raffle baskets this year. The girls have already started wrapping! August will be here before we know it. Did we mention that we LOVE our volunteers?

Posted on May 30.09 to Preview DayYes, one of the projects had our volunteers down on the floor, on their hands and knees, working with a rubber mallet. The mallet actually worked like charm but Tim says he has a better tool for the job… and we are going to find a table that is tall so you don’t have to crawl on the floor in your fancy formal ball gowns, white gloves, and tiaras (that was a joke! refer to the photo of the messy hands!). See, that is why we have a Preview Day for the teachers and volunteers!

Is that Doug Jones standing in the background talking to Carol Niemyski about the details. Yep. They are making sure everything will run perfectly. Doug is the kitting guru after all!

Another Creative Escape Hint
Posted on May 24.09 to Preview DayAnother Creative Escape Hint…. at least one of the classes is REALLY messy and fun all mixed together. If messy is an issue for you, pack latex gloves or baby wipes. Even if you don’t like messy, take a walk on the wild side! The results are fabulous!
Good food – the signature of this event
Posted on May 22.09 to Preview DayWe had a pasta bar for lunch during our Preview Day. Mona Johnson the decorating genius set the table and she will create other beautiful things for you to behold at the event. The two beautiful packages on the back counter are raffle gifts from Heidi Swapp’s House of 3 and Bazzill. Mona wrapped the boxes in a parent sheet of Bazzill cardstock and lots of Bazzill Tulle. Joey Otlo said if you take the photo at an angle it looks artsy. Notice the predominance of green. That should be a hint for this year’s event. Shhh… don’t tell anyone.
Preview Day a success
Posted on May 20.09 to Preview DayPreview Day is such an important part of Creative Escape. All the volunteers, teachers and staff join together for a test-drive. It is a chance for the volunteers to become experts at every class taught by every teacher. It is a chance for teachers to make sure they teach their project within the time limit and double check instructions. It is a chance for staff to make sure all the kits are complete, the teachers have everything they need to make their class run smoothly, and the volunteers are celebrated! We did it. It was fun. You are going to love Creative Escape!
